The material feels really sturdy! It’s not thick or fluffy like microfiber but it feels like quality. It’s super thin!!!! Which is nice, less bulk. They say to wash and dry at least 3 times before first use. I am about to do that so I will update. And I’m expecting them to shrink based on reviews and to take a bit to dry. If it happens they do take long to dry I will order extra. Material says it’s hemp 55% and cotton 45%.
4 stars because I still have to wash them and also because they are pricey for the amount in the pack.
(UPDATE) So I changed 4 stars to 5 because I used the hemp inserts for overnight and they are super absorbent!! I did wash them before use, they took forever to dry and I dried on low tumble heat. It would be eternal if I air dried. I only use at night because my baby is not a heavy wetter in the day. We use only 1 microfiber insert in the day change every 2hrs. At night I insert these hemp into the Alva baby pocket diaper, then add a microfiber on top with the bambino mío liner (which I highly recommend) all these steps keep my baby DRY from 8pm -6am. I see why these Inserts are pricey now, they are GOOD!

This is a very nice and soft material and works well I love it. I don’t appreciate they have also made their items more then doublely more expensive since I started buying them. Very pricey. I do appreciate it is an American company. I just think it’s too expensive and if it is going to be so costly should not disintegrate, so I don’t have to keep on buying them every few months.
Also, next issue is the fact that the size does vary from what they are supposed to be. I hope you can see in third picture.
Other then that I do appreciate these, but really quality issues.

When comparing these to double stuffing normal pads, these hemp pads definitely hold more liquid.
